"Similar to us, you all took an oath to safeguard and support this founding document," the representatives declared in the 90-second video. "Currently, the dangers to our constitution are not only from foreign nations, but from within our own country. Our laws are unambiguous, you can reject illegal orders, you can refuse improper directives, you have to decline improper directives. No one has to carry out commands that violate the law or our founding principles."

Party Representatives React
Following Trump's statements on that day, House Democratic leader published a unified announcement condemning the comments.
"Violent politics has no place in the United States," they declared. "Elected officials who were featured in the video all acted our nation with exceptional national pride and distinction. We clearly condemn Donald Trump's appalling and risky death threats against congressional representatives, and urge Republican lawmakers to vigorously do the same."
The party representatives also stated that they had been in touch with security officials "to make certain the security of these members and their families."
"Donald Trump must right away remove these radical online messages and withdraw his dangerous language before he gets someone killed," the statement stated.
Lawmakers' Strong Response
The representatives who appeared in the video also published a statement.
"We are ex-military personnel and defense specialists who care for this nation and made an oath to safeguard and support the national charter of the United States," they stated. "This commitment continues forever, and we plan to honor it. No threat, coercion, or promotion of aggression will deter us from that sacred obligation."
"What's most telling is that the ex-president views it punishable by capital punishment for us to reiterate the legal requirements," they stated. "Our service members should know that we have their protection as they fulfill their oath to the constitution and duty to adhere to only proper directives. It is not only the proper thing to do, but also our obligation."
They continued: "Every American must come together and denounce the former president's calls for our murder and political violence. This is a time for moral clarity."
Further Partisan Responses
The Democratic Senate minority leader also condemned Trump's remarks and shared on digital platforms: "Let's be crystal clear: the President of the United States is calling for the execution of government members."
He continued: "This is an clear THREAT. All senators, every Representative, all citizens – regardless of party – should denounce this without delay and unconditionally."
The Republican House speaker supported Trump's claim that the Democrats had engaged in "sedition", characterizing the video as "extremely improper", adding: "This constitutes very risky, you have prominent officials of the legislature telling soldiers to disobey orders, I think that's unprecedented in American history."
The GOP official also allegedly stated to the press that in what he examined of Trump's posts, Trump was "explaining the offense of sedition" but that "attorneys have to parse the language and decide all that."
Administration Reaction
During a White House press conference on that day, when inquired by a media member, "Would the president want to put to death elected officials?", the executive branch representative replied: "No."
"Let's be clear about what the former president is responding to," the official stated. "You have active officials of the federal government who worked together to orchestrate a digital communication to personnel of the US military, to active duty service members urging them to ignore the president's lawful orders."
She said: "The integrity of our defense system depends on the hierarchy, and if that structure is broken, it can cause fatalities, it can cause confusion, and that's what these elected officials ... are essentially encouraging."
