New Details Emerge About the Finding of Rob and Michele Singer Reiner's Bodies

Fresh particulars have surfaced regarding the untimely passing of esteemed director Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were found at their Los Angeles home residence on Sunday.

A Discovery

According to a report referencing a confidential source, a practitioner scheduled for an session initially became concerned after not being able to enter the residence. The practitioner then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives in the vicinity.

Upon entering the house, Romy came upon her father's body. Accounts indicate she then fled the house in anguish, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Another individual who had gone with her contacted 911. Subsequently, first responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Charges

Authorities have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of premeditated murder, along with the charge related to a weapon, reportedly a knife. He is currently being held and is ineligible for bail.

Correcting the Record

The confidential informant challenged several earlier details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick resided in a detached unit on the property, she did not identify him as a suspect at that juncture.

The source also refuted widely reported suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "worried" about Nick's actions in recent weeks. Instead the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."

The statement also extends to accounts of reportedly "unstable" conduct by Nick at a party thrown by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the discovery. While the source noted they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they maintained that reports of a "heated argument" between the two were not correct.

Ongoing Inquiry Details

As stated by law enforcement officials, the coroner had not yet established at that point whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Some accounts suggested the state of their bodies implied they had been dead for some hours.

Nick Reiner was taken into custody at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the family home. He was set to appear in court on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, said his client had not been medically cleared and would not appear until no sooner than Wednesday.
