Renowned Star Pat Finn, Known For Appearances in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at 60 Years Old.
US performer Pat Finn, who was seen in iconic TV shows such as Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California recently following treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, according to reports.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - solely future friends he didn't know yet," his relatives said in a statement.
They added that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".
A Prolific Career on Screen
His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he played the lead character's sibling.
He was also seen in a repeating character on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He played the part of Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a social organizer known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.
During the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous well-known programs, such as:
- King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
Finn was perhaps best known for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.
He was involved with a six-person improv troupe called "Beer Shark Mice".
"Finn guided, supported, and advised many learners during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Paying homage, peer Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he posted on social media.
Finn is leaves behind his wife Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
